With broken hearts, we share the heartbreaking loss of Kai Karate, lovingly known as “Vincent” to his family. 💔 This dapper little gentleman joined his family in 2024 as an older boy, and in the time they had together, he filled their lives with so much love. Vincent was the sweetest snuggler, always happy to curl up in your lap, and if your lap wasn’t available, he was perfectly content lovingly resting at your feet. He came when called, knew his “kennel” command, and absolutely loved his walks. His adorable, jaunty little bounce as he walked was enough to make anyone smile. When Vincent became sick and had to go to the ER, his family faced the heartbreaking decision to follow the vet’s recommendation and help their beloved boy cross the Rainbow Bridge. It is never easy to say goodbye to a cherished family member, and Vincent will be missed more than words can say. Run free, sweet boy. Your little bounce, your gentle heart, and all the love you gave will stay forever in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to call you family. |

Sad news. We had to put Jack to sleep this morning. He had breathing problems related to previous heartworm lung damage. He was on several meds and under constant care. Please know he had the absolute BEST of everything we could give him, and he gave us love 💕 beyond measure. He was my constant companion by day and slept by my side every night. I held him and cried my heart out this morning and am still in tears. I know it was the right decision but it is hard to be without him. He was SO much a part of who I am! He was definitely destined to be “my boy.” We could not let him suffer; labored breathing was so difficult to watch. Once we recover (I will forever miss him) and can breathe easier myself, I would like to adopt again. Just can’t imagine my life without a dachshund by my side. Please share this with his foster mom who was phenomenal with him. She took such good care of him and I admire her. Thanks for all the work you do to give dachshunds the best possible life! |

We call Titus "Tiger" now because our daughter started calling him that, and it seems similar enough that he answers to it. 😊 He has fit right in with us and is super loving and cute and also smart & funny! He seemed anxious particularly about lights and shadows on the wall and ceiling in the very beginning, so we’ve worked with him some with a great trainer in our area to help with calming him a bit about any light or shadow movement that catches his eye. While we waited for our first session with her I looked some things up and kind of wondered if he’d chased a laser pointer in his past. And that ended up being what the trainer brought up also. Who knows? But he’s settled in and much less anxious now. Plus he’s super smart and has bursts of energy when he wants to play, so I think he likes working on the little commands and playing games here and there in general. But besides playing with balls and toys for the most part, he likes finding a lap to snuggle on. He also loves sleeping in the big bed. ☺️ |
