Joy Pearson
Rainbow Bridge December 18, 2017
We said Goodbye to Joy today. Debbie is heartbroken. We adopted Joy many years ago during Christmas. She was named "Joy" in honor of the holiday.
I built a coffin for her and lined it with purple felt. They are all getting so old.
Our hearts go out to Debbie and Ron for the loss of their precious little girl.

George Adcock
Adopted November 23, 2008
Rainbow Bridge November 28, 2017
Super sad tonight because I had to say goodbye to the best side kick ever! We didn't meet until he was eight years old, but he loved me for almost ten years.
He helped me through some very dark times and kept me company when I was stuck in bed with an injured leg. There will never be another like him.
Rest in peace and wait on me at the bridge I love you, George.
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Meredith and her familty for the loss of her sweet little George.

Manny Bingle
Rescued 2005
Rainbow Bridge October 7, 2017
Everyone who met Manny was immediately drawn to him.
The shelter staff knew he was different and begged Dachshund Rescue of Houston to take him so he wouldn't be put to sleep. Even though he didn't look like a typical dachshund,
he made up for it in his calm and shy nature. He loved to sleep next to his foster mom with his head on her lap. Manny passed away suddenly and unexpectedly
due to a possible ruptured spleen. His foster mom is heartbroken.
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Shelly for the loss of her special Forever Foster.

Samantha Busald Nunnally
Adopted May 6, 2005
Rainbow Bridge September 29, 2017
Sweet Samantha was adopted from Dachshund Rescue of Houston in May of 2005. Besides being "noisy, sassy and bossy", she was a silly, playful girl who brought
tons of joy to her family. Samantha was also a tough little dog, having been through heartworm treatment and back surgery.
From Cathy: "Her her quality of life was so diminished - she couldn't walk or stand, couldn't eat, and had difficulty breathing. It was just time, and
they count on you to do the right thing. It's a pretty empty house without her. For a little 11 pound dog, she had a presence!"
Our hearts go out to Cathy and Betty for the loss of their very special girl.

Luna Causey
Rainbow Bridge September 27, 2017
My heart is shattered. Yesterday my sweet Luna passed away very unexpectedly. She was rushed to the ER after I noticed she was tired,
cold and had not been herself for a couple hours. SNARR NE authorized everything that could possibly save her life. Sadly her body was too small,
and she went to heaven to join my baby Bruce. I tried to give her the best life possible for the last five months. She was supposed to be leaving
tonight with her sister Lena and mom Lucy. My heart is shattered beyond repair and will need time to heal.
DREAM extends our deepest sypathy to Zaira for the loss of her sweet foster, Luna.

Lewis Miller, 92
March 10, 1925 - September 14, 2017
From Lewis' daughter, Patt Meisler: Here's a photo of my parents taken earlier this month. They had two short haired doxies over the years and several
German Shepherds on the farm. He loved all the dogs we brought over to visit in our adult lives.
We always had barn cats too. One had to have a leg amputated after getting under my car hood, so that barn cat became a $250 barn cat.
Mom and Dad would've been married 72 years in November.
Lewis D. Miller Obituary
DREAM extends our sincere condolences to Patt and her family for the loss of her father.

Izzy Haegner
Rainbow Bridge August 19, 2017
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories a lane,
I would walk right up to Heaven
and bring you back again.
No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say "Goodbye".
You were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches with sadness,
and secret tears still flow.
What it meant to love you,
no one can ever know.
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Brenda and Annie for the sudden loss of their sweet little Izzy.

Luigi Schmidt
Adopted May 13, 2011
Rainbow Bridge August 18, 2017
Luigi was rescued by Dachshund Rescue of Houston in 2011. Both of his legs were broken and his previous owners felt their only option was to euthanize him.
Thankfully, his veterinarian convinced them to let him go to rescue.
After receiving treatment for his broken bones, he healed up nicely, and his foster Angie ended up adopting him.
In recent weeks, Luigi started losing weight and refusing to eat. After numerous inconclusive tests, Luigi finally succumbed to what appeared to be liver cancer.
Rest in peace, sweet Luigi. We know you will be terribly missed.
Our hearts go out to Angie and her family for the loss of their sweet little boy.

Bubba Bentz
Adopted August 10, 2011
Rainbow Bridge August 10, 2017
Sweet Bubba crossed Rainbow Bridge yesterday after fighting a long battle with prostate cancer. His momma, Margaret, is devastated.
Ms. Margaret is 87 years old and Bubba was her constant companion. Bubba was surrendered to
Dachshund Rescue of Houston when he was 7 years old because his owner was going into a nursing home. Bubba ended up being the perfect match for
Ms. Margaret, but it took a couple months to talk her into meeting him. There is much sadness in the Bentz home today. Please keep Margaret and her family in your prayers.
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Ms. Margaret for the loss her special boy.

Rainbow Bridge August 6, 2017
Carrie and I lost our beloved pet friend today, as Chico crossed over Rainbow Bridge this morning. Chico, a rescue pup, was 15+ years
old and such a gentle, friendly, tenacious doggie. His tail was always wagging. So blessed we had 11 years together. He loved to travel
and we saw much of the country together. So glad he lived to spend 3+ months here in Wisconsin. He had a good life and we will miss him
so much. Rest in peace little buddy.
Our hearts go out to Jeff and Carrie for the loss of their precious little man, Chico.

Katie Treadway
Rainbow Bridge July 7, 2017
Today I had to make the worst decision to put my baby girl to sleep. For the past 13 years she has been the best companion.
We have been through a lot of challenges, but she was always there for me. My heart is broken, and being at home without her is painful.
I will miss you Katie and will always love you.
Our hearts go out to Kerry for the loss of his special girl.

Wesley Finelt
February 9, 2004 - July 3, 2017
Wesley passed away today due to complications from Degenerative Myelopathy. He was 13 years old and he lived with Margaret and me from June 9,
2007 until his death. Wesley was a Caring Critters Therapy dog for almost 8 years and he visited patients at Ben Taub Hospital, LBJ Hospital,
and the Hampton Tanglewood Nursing Home. He literally met thousands of patients during his career and he always loved his job. He especially loved
the children.
During his life, Wesley went on many vacations and traveled to eight different states ranging from the home of Elvis and Rock n Roll (Memphis, TN)
to the the deep south of Savannah, GA. Being a Dalmatian, Wesley loved to walk. In his life with us, we estimate that Wesley walked over 10,000 miles.
Wesley was more than a dog, he was our son. He was a therapy dog until the end making his last visit on June 17, 2017. May his memory comfort
those he touched.
Our hearts go out to Dan and Margaret for the loss of this very special boy.

Aside from the love for his wife, work, and family, Charlie loved animals.
Their ranch is home to many adopted animals, including Tinker, the Dachshund, and his donkeys, Guido and Luigi.
He never met a dog he didn't like.
His kind heart and never-ending wit will forever be missed.
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Carolyn and Trisha for the loss of their husband and stepfather.

Sadie Gorman
July 4, 2002 - April 26, 2017
Sadie Gorman, born July 4, 2002, passed away April 26, 2017. Sadie came to live with Christmas and me in 2007.
She had been a puppy mill mom for five years and was set free to rescue. I thought Christmas needed a buddy to play with while I was gone
(they just needed to sleep while I was gone). They became sisters and fought just like they had been together from day one.
Christmas was arrogant and Sadie was passive at all times. After we lost Christmas two years ago, Sadie began to talk! And talk she did very well.
It was just I who did not understand dog. She insisted until she got what she wanted. About a month ago she was diagnosed with cancer of the bowel
with little chance of survival. Ten days ago she started a rapid decline and today I had to let her go to the Rainbow Bridge.
It was hard, but now I know she is running free and the tears fill my eyes. I love you Sadie. Please tell Christmas and Roxi I love them too. - Mom
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Sharon for the loss of her sweet girl, Sadie.

KK Kiani (Carol Brady)
Rescued 5/25/11 - Rainbow Bridge 4/24/17
KK was rescued in 2011 by Dachshund Rescue of Houston as part of an SPCA cruely seizure. She became a Forever Foster due to multiple health
problems, including severe dry eye and a heart murmur. Congestive heart failure eventually got the best of her on Monday. KK's wonderful fosters
stayed with her through all her issues and did everything they could for her. We know she will be missed.
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to the Kianis for the loss of their special girl.

Minnie Pearl Stebbins
We didn't seem to have enough time with Minnie but are so grateful for the time we had.
She was such a sweet, stubborn, quiet Dachshund. I think we only heard her bark maybe ten times in the four and a half years she was ours.
Amazing, I know! Here are some of our favorite pics of Minnie.
DREAM extends our deepest sympathy to Scott and Georgianna for the loss of their sweet Minnie Pearl.

Sweet Saucy in her youth

|
Saucy Caillouet
April 1, 1998 - January 31, 2017
I had to let my sweet Saucy go yesterday. She was down to only 3 lbs 11 oz, was hardly eating anything and could barely keep her balance
when she would try to walk. She was still processing fluids and passing urine, but had begun only getting her front paws into the litter box
before starting to pee right on the floor; she was also constipated a lot and I was beginning to find little surprises she was dropping off
around the house.
All of this and more had me pretty sure the night before that it was time, so I called Dr. Kimberly at
Compassionate Pet Vet in the morning
to make arrangements. It was my normal telecommute day and the weather was absolutely gorgeous, so I set up my workstation outside with a spot
for Saucy right next to me, and we got to spend the whole day together enjoying the sunshine and each other. It was as perfect a day as
I had hoped for.
The vet came to the house about 4:30 and she was so sweet and kind and gentle, and I could tell that it really affected her too.
She was very professional but not just all cold and clinical and methodical, which I really appreciated. She even choked up a bit at a couple of
points, and gave me hugs and lots of comforting words throughout. The process was peaceful and I got to stroke Saucy's head, look into her eyes and
tell her goodbye as she went to sleep. There could not have been much doubt in her mind about how much she means to me.
Our hearts go out to Chris for the loss of his beloved Saucy.
