This little treat is Paulina Parfait. She came to DREAM as a stray in 2015 and was adopted quickly. Sadly, her adoptive family was no longer able to care for her due to their declining health and returned her to DREAM in January of 2023 in hopes that DREAM could help her find a new family to love and care for her.
From Paulina's foster mom: After a few days in our foster home, Paulina (named Luna back in 2015) is transitioning nicely!! She is eating up all the attention she’s getting. She really just wants to be around people and will make a lovely lap dog. She does okay with our bigger male Dachshund but you can tell she likes her space. I think she would do fine as an only dog with someone who is home with her much of the time.
She is very food motivated although her weight is good and this may help with her training in a new home. She appears to be housebroken as she goes potty when she is taken out. She is pretty good with the harness/leash, but can get stubborn if she decides she doesn't want to go in the same direction you do. It takes a little bit of gentle guidance to convince her she really does want to go with you.
Her vision might not be the best, which is common for her age, but she is alert and uses her little nose well.
