Update on Ericka
Ericka is 6 year old tweenie. She came to DREAM in very bad shape. In fact, it's hard to even go back and look at her original pictures! Ericka is a toy collector and will bring all her toys into her bed or crate and happily lay with them. She is completely house trained and uses the doggie door easily. She can be crated for short periods of time, as long as she has her toys and a chewy in there to keep her occupied. She will play with other dogs outside, chasing, etc. but inside she prefers to run to her bed and lay with her toys. She would benefit greatly by having an owner who would work with her on learning to walk on a leash, and would help her enjoy the other benefits of being a spoiled pet. She will thrive in a forever home that will provide her lots of human interaction and affection.
Little Ericka, was found as a stray, along with her sister Elloise, abandoned in a parking lot. Ericka had a bad case of sarcoptic mange, in addition to intestinal worms and heartworms. We are grateful to the caring passerby who spotted the girls and contacted DREAM for help in rescuing them. We're convinced that with the right amount of love and care (both emotional and medical), Ericka will flourish and heal inside and out! Both Ericka and Elloise will need foster care to aid them through the healing process.
