Scout (nick-named as Brûlée, as in Crème Brûlée, by his foster mom) is a very sweet dog with lots of love to give. He gets along well with other dogs; he does not play with other dogs but will play fetch with you the whole day if he could! He will find the toy basket, take everything out of it and choose his favorite chewing toy.
Brulee seeks a lot of attention from his human and always wants to be somewhere close. He has a very high pitch barking and may bark for a long time when left alone. For that reason, he would not be a good fit for an apartment. He does much better when left at home with other dogs. He needs a calm environment with no small kids (a small-sized family with dachshund experience would be ideal) and he needs a very patient person to work with him on his anxiety. He is extremely loving and will fill you with kisses any chance he has.
He's very well house-trained and likes to sleep in his crate at night. Brûlée came to us 4-5 lbs overweight but has already lost half of it. We prefer him to be adopted by someone who is active enough to take him on long walks and play several rounds of fetch with him daily! He will ask for it!
He does very well on a leash and enjoys frequent walks in the neighborhood. At first he did not enjoy car rides but has since gotten very used to riding next to his foster brother.
