Hollie is a designer dachshund, which means she is dachshund mixed with a terrier (which is how she gets those cute ears!)! Hollie is very smart. She doesn’t have the stubbornness that Dachshunds usually have. She is about 19 months old, and had a litter of pups not long ago. She is 14 pounds now and could stand to gain a pound or two, but that shouldn’t be hard because she will do anything for a treat! She knows some simple commands like “Get in your bed,” and she is kennel trained. She sleeps in her kennel and stays in her kennel when her foster mom is gone for a little while. She loves to snuggle and sit with you on the couch, and would probably love to sleep in the bed with you too! We are working on teaching her to sit, and she has been going on walks so that she can exercise, and improve her socialization. She can be food aggressive and bed aggressive, and while she has done ok with the other dogs in her foster home we feel she would do best as the only dog. Hollie loves the back yard, and suns just a bit each morning! We are working on teaching her to use her “inside voice” as she tends to bark. She is very eager to please, and just needs a little extra training, socializing, and love. Hollie does not do well with young children and needs a home where she will not have small children around. In just the short time that Hollie has been with my husband and myself, she has become very devoted and loving. Hollie is patiently waiting for her forever home!
